Stunning Tuolumne Summer Solstice Adventure Elopement

When you think of Yosemite, it’s easy to imagine The Valley with its towering walls & massive monoliths. But I’ve always felt that the Tuolumne Meadows region is the crown jewel of Yosemite National Park. And it’s for sure my personal favorite area of the park. I got to live 11 summers in this high country paradise. It has always felt like my soul home above all else, and helped shape me into the man I am today. 

So when Georgie & Tanner reached out saying they wanted to elope on the summer solstice in Tuolumne, my heart started to sing. The Tuolumne region is also very special for them. It served as fertile ground while they were growing and building their relationship. So of course it was the perfect location for their Yosemite elopement. And wow did we have an incredible evening together. 

I have been friends with both of them online for quite some time now. But this was actually the first time we met in person. It’s always an honor when people choose to have me document their sacred Yosemite wedding. And when it’s friends I haven’t even met in person yet, it’s extra special. 

We were treated with a gorgeous sunset and perfect conditions as Georgie & Tanner celebrated their love and commitment for each other. And as you can see from these images, it was utterly magical. The Puppy Dome area has access to both incredible sunset views, and the stunning Tuolumne River.

The Glacier Point road will be closed for all of 2022 and 2023. This means that two of Yosemite’s most iconic locations at Glacier Point & Taft Point won’t be easily accessible. I hope these gorgeous images serve to show that there’s much more to Yosemite than The Valley. And I look forward to more couples choosing Yosemite’s majestic high country out of Tuolumne for a special experience that you’ll cherish forever. Onward!
