Shawn created our perfect dream adventure elopement in Tuolumne Meadows! It exceeded anything we could have ever imagined for our special day. He made the coordination and planning from across the globe the easiest process, provided several location options, timelines, and references to choose from in the months leading up to our day. Shawn really made the entire process seamless for my husband and I, and took out every bit of stress from the equation so that we were truly able to enjoy our surroundings and just being together in the moment.
The day of the elopement couldn't have been more picture perfect. He took us off the beaten path to some of the most incredible views we've ever seen. The pictures were BREATHTAKING! I still get the biggest smile looking at these photos over and over again. Shawn is truly so talented! My husband and I have already discussed planning a Yosemite trip for vow renewals one day down the road on the condition that Shawn be there to capture it all over again! We had an amazing experience with Shawn. He went beyond our expectations in both the experience of the photo shoot and the finished product. I am afraid of heights. Shawn and Brittany were amazing to work with for our mountain elopement. Leading up to the day, they were easy to communicate and plan with and had amazing ideas for how to document the day. We had an overnight backpacking trip for our wedding so they went above and beyond to plan the logistics of the trip and get all the photos that we wanted.
During our day, Shawn and Brittany approached our day with so much mindfulness with every detail. We talked through where the lighting from the moon would be, where sunrise would give us the best views for our morning vows, what specific spots were important to us, etc. For anyone who feels a little awkward being photographed, Shawn was the best hype man and did an amazing job taking pictures that felt natural and didn't make us feel posed. Our entire experience with Shawn was easy and fun. His extensive knowledge of Yosemite NP was invaluable to help us choose locations to shoot and also get married. He even helped us find a celebrant (Donny Alexander - another great human). A few phone calls and emails before hand to lock in the details was all it took then on the day the time flew by. A truly amazing experience to get married on a granite dome in a national park at sunset that would not have been possible without Shawn.
I don’t really like being in pictures but Shawn made us both feel comfortable and the entire session felt natural and fun. Shawn got the pictures of our special day turned around in record time and we were blown away by his work. I can not recommend him to you highly enough. My wife - Diane Horm - and I worked with Shawn Reeder in October 2019 to plan an adventurous photo session in Yosemite National Park that included several sessions. We all did a fabulous hike up an old fishing trail to Cathedral Lake in the High Country, and we also had our photos taken at sunrise overlooking Half Dome from Glacier Point and sunset photos taken at Taft's Point overlooking El Capitan. We also took some great shots one afternoon in the meadows across from El Cap.
The experience was fabulous - the photos remain a treasure, as do our memories of hiking with Shawn and enjoying his company as he shared his experiences in and around the Park.
