Essential Packing List for Your Yosemite Elopement Adventure

Your Yosemite elopement is going to be stunning, wild, and unforgettable—but it will also involve some logistics. Whether you’re hiking to a remote overlook, watching the sunrise at Glacier Point, or eloping with family in a quiet valley meadow, what you bring can make or break your experience.

This Yosemite elopement packing list is designed to help you stay comfortable, prepared, and totally in the moment—no matter what the trail or weather brings.

Wedding Attire

You want to feel amazing and be trail-ready. Here’s what to consider:

  • Your wedding dress, suit, jumpsuit, or chosen outfit (packable, breathable fabrics work best)
  • Comfortable shoes or boots for walking and exploring
  • Layers for warmth (shawl, down puffy, leather jacket, or wool coat)
  • Extra outfit for sunrise/sunset variation (if desired)
  • Veil or accessories that play well with wind and movement

Essentials for Your Ceremony

  • Vow books
  • Wedding rings
  • Marriage license and permit (you must bring both!)
  • Lightweight bouquet or boutonniere (consider artificial or dried florals if hiking)
  • Water bottle (you want to stay hydrated!)

Adventure Gear

If you’re hiking or accessing a more remote area, bring:

  • Backpack or daypack
  • Headlamp or flashlight (especially for sunrise or sunset elopements)
  • Water bottles or hydration packs (staying hydrated is crucial)
  • Snacks or a packed picnic
  • First aid kit
  • Small trash bag (Leave No Trace!)

For the Weather

Yosemite can shift from sunny to windy and chilly fast, especially at higher elevations. Here’s a link for the most accurate Yosemite weather. You can move the map around and tap on it to get pinpoint weather forecasts. Be prepared with:

  • Warm layers (even in summer!)
  • Down jacket, gloves and beanie for winter or shoulder season
  • Rain jacket or clear umbrella
  • Sunscreen + sunglasses
  • Lip balm with SPF

Optional but Awesome
